BLUE ROCKS CAMPING CANCELLED

Due to very poor weather forecast for this weekend, the outing has been cancelled

Let’s Go Camping!

Pack 196 has chosen Blue Rocks Campground as the perfect spot to do some tent camping this October. We looked at location, price, and activities to enjoy, and Blue Rocks has it all. The campground is exactly one hour from Perkasie either by Rt. 309 or the PA turnpike. It has a huge amazing boulder field for the boys to climb on and explore, and it is just a 1 ½ mile hike to the Appalachian Trail.

The cost of camping includes the site, meals, and activities. Plan to grab some dinner along the way and make it to camp by 7pm so that you can get settled, put up your tent, and be ready for bingo in the rec hall at 8pm! We’ll have a full Saturday of hiking, fishing, letterboxing, campground Halloween activities, and trips to Hawk Mountain and Cabela’s. If it rains, we’ll go to Crystal Cave instead of Hawk Mountain. On Sunday there will be plenty of time to enjoy the campground before church services and a trip to Roadside America. We’ll get back to camp in time to clean-up before heading home. On the way home, you might want to stop by the Museum of Indian Culture to check out their Annual Time of Thanksgiving Festival. It is sure to be a fun-filled weekend for Scouts and their families!

You will need to bring your own tent and sleeping and personal items. Bringing some snacks to have on your own or to share is a good idea too. A detailed weekend agenda will be available at upcoming den meetings as well as a suggested packing list. The sooner you rsvp…the sooner we can plan accordingly. Questions? E-mail Anne Gaenssle at [email protected] or contact Eric Larson via the Perkasie Pack 196 website.
