The Best Cub Scout Pack in Bucks County

A family friendly program shaping young men and women into exemplary students and citizens who get better grades at school and go further in life than boys and girls who are not involved with scouting.

Meetings regularly on Thursday nights from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm aligning with the school year. Our Pack is open to boys and girls from all local schools: Bedminster Elementary, Deibler Elementary, Seylar Elementary, and others. Any K to 5th grade boy or girl from any school is welcome!

Pack 196 presented the colors, recited the pledge of allegiance, the Scout Oath and Law at Presbyterian Church of Deep Run to celebrate #nationalscoutsunday (which occurs the Sunday before February 8th which is the Anniversay of Scouting since 1910) and recognizes the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting.
We are grateful for PCDR which provides us the space and resources needed to operate at our best to serves the needs of the Scouts and their families! As a Scout, we are Reverent, towards God, and faithful in our religious duties and repspects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion.Image attachmentImage attachment

With summer haziness clearing and charismatic Saturn visible in the night sky, September is a wonderful time to look up. Join us for a star watch at the Tohickon Boat Launch parking lot on Saturday, September 16. 🪐

Participation is free and open to the public. The astronomers from Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association will have telescopes available to look through and will be on hand to answer questions. Dress warmly and bring binoculars or your own telescopes if you have them. Bug spray is recommended this time of year. We ask that you leave your pets at home for the safety and comfort of other participants and to prevent potential damage to delicate equipment. 🔭

Participants are welcome to arrive around 7:15 for discussion and make-your-own redlight flashlights, while we wait for darkness. Stargazing will commence closer to 8:00. 🔦

(Please check this website for updates in case the weather leads to postponement. Postponements, if any, will be communicated here by 5:00 PM on the day of the event. Rain Date: Saturday, September 23) 🌧

One photo says it all!
Pack 196 keeps growing and thriving because of the leaders and adults that take charge on leading and guiding our boys…but more importantly the motivation by the Scouts and the joy they experience in Scouting.
As our end of the year pack meeting emphasized, a Scout needs an ‘Akela’, to guide them on the path to Eagle. Not only do you as a parent, guardian or friend need to take on the responsibility of that role, but hopefully the people you surround your Scout and family with accept and honor that commitment as well.
Great way to start summer and grateful to be part of this group!
